CLC holds on for weekend sweep

The Central Lakes College Raiders quickly defeated Vermilion Friday and outlasted Mesabi Sunday for the Northern Division weekend sweep.

The Raiders defeated the nation's ninth-ranked Mesabi 3-2, after owning Vermilion 3-0 on the CLC campus.

On Saturday, Erica Feldewerd tallied 18 kills, Jenna Terhaar 17 and Kaitlyn Roerick 13. Rachel Pfeffer distributed 40 set assists to go with 15 digs and a kill of her own.

CLC's defense had five women in double figure digs. Krystle Hamilton led the team with 22 digs followed by Feldewerd's 19 and Christine Malm's 16.

Against Vermilion Friday, Pfeffer notched 26 set assists, three digs and three block assists. Terhaar knocked down 10 kills and Feldewerd added nine kills to go with six ace serves and four digs.

Hamilton posted 14 digs.
