CLC helps student victims of hurricane

Posted: Wednesday, October 05, 2005

The Central Lakes College Student Support Services and Upward Bound programs are participating along with thousands of others across the country to send supplies to college students in TRiO and Upward Bound programs in the area affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Each program in the United States was asked to fill a new backpack with school supplies.

"We're eager to help the people in need," said Charles Black Lance, director of TRiO programs at CLC, as he stuffed bags with new pens, sharpened pencils, erasers, notebooks with lined white paper, toothbrushes, tubes of toothpaste, healthy snacks, calculators, key chains, staplers, tape dispensers and more.
