20 years ago (1984)

A full slate of festivities has been planned for Homecoming Week at Brainerd High School Monday through Friday. Official slogan is "Dam the Falls," In honor of the 7:30 Oct. 12 football game against Little Falls.

30 years ago (1974)

The Brainerd High Pow Wow election of Mark Campbell as senior president heads the list of fall election reports at Brainerd High School.

40 years ago (1964)

A new voter registration record has been set in Brainerd and will go higher. The total registration stands at 6,686, the highest previous total was 6,666 two years ago.

60 years ago (1944)

Strict censorship in the Italian theater of operations forced Sgt. Clarence Holden, Brainerd, to write nothing more than the little personalities in life and did not permit him to tell of the many battles in which he participated as a member of the 361st infantry regiment, 91st division in Italy. The latter was written to Col. Henry Mills.

80 years ago (1924)

Joe Hebert will return to his chair in the barber shop after an enforced vacation of six months due to ill health. Mr. Hebert states that he is feeling fine again.

100 years ago (1904)

The Cass County Fair opened this afternoon at Sylvan Lake and will run for three days. This county, though young in agricultural pursuits, has a very creditable fair each year.
