CLC women tied for first; men second at region

MADISON, Wis. -- Lacey Hoeck and the Central Lakes College women's golf team were tied for first place following the first day of the Region 13 golf tournament Monday.

Hoeck was tied for first in the women's division with an 82. The Raider women's team and Ridgewater Community College of Willmar were tied for first with 278 strokes apiece.

Derek Harris of CLC was three shots off the men's lead with a 75 following play Monday.

After the first day of men's competition, CLC was six strokes behind Rochester Community College's 305.

Matt Dahlke of Rochester was the first-day men's leader with a 72.

Team scores -- 1-Rochester CC 305, 2-Central Lakes 311, 3-Madison, Wis. 314

CLC results -- Derek Harris 75, Theo Frentzos 76, Justin Speer 76

Rochester results -- Matt Dahlke 72

Women

Team scores -- 1-(tie) Central Lakes and Ridgewater 278

CLC results -- 1-Lacy Hoeck 82

Next meet -- CLC will resume play Tuesday.
