Warrior JV boys beat Apollo for first time

BAXTER -- The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity boys' soccer team finally found the right combination and defeated the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles 3-0 Sept. 28.

It was the first win ever for the Warrior boys' JV soccer program over the Eagles.

Brainerd head coach Casey Betting said the Warriors' combined great goaltending with timely scoring and added an extra measure of effort in earning the win.

"Joe Phelps had a remarkable game for us in goal," said Betting. "He had 26 saves and at least three of those came on breakaways"
