BUCKMAN -- Truman Erich Scholl, 79, Buckman, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at St. Cloud Hospital.
He was born July 24, 1921 to Ernest Erich and Anna Marie (Eue) Scholl. He married Caroline F. Becker on May 20, 1944, in St. Albert's Catholic Church of Albertville. They lived in Iowa for a year. He entered the Army on June 23, 1945, and was discharged Aug. 31, 1946. After his discharge, they moved to Osseo and farmed. In 1955, they moved to Pierz and farmed northeast of Buckman. From 1961-1974, he worked at Farmer's Supply in Buckman and then opened Scholl's Repair. They sold their farm in 1984 and moved to Buckman. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Buckman, Knights of Columbus, Pierz American Legion Post No. 341 and St. Michael's Catholic Aid Society.
Survivors include five sons, Dale, Buckman, Jim, Pierz, Bill, Rosemount, Dan, Buckman, and Dennis, Champlin; seven daughters, Judy Terhaar, Foreston, Arlene Spiczka, Brooklyn Park, Janel Jansen, Pierz, Donna Scholl, Little Falls, Mary Tschida, Pierz, Karla Stumpf, Pierz, and Jackie Johnson, Sauk Rapids; 32 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Clement Scholl, Brainerd; and a sister, Gertrude Moran, Fresno, Calif.
His wife, a granddaughter, five brothers, Carl, Leo, Richard, Warren and Arthur Scholl, and two sisters, Irma O'Hotto and Dorothy Rudolph, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church of Buckman with the Rev. Ron Dockendorf officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Memorials are preferred.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel of Pierz, with St. Michael's Catholic Aid Society, Pierz American Legion and the Knights of Columbus praying the rosary together at 4 p.m. today follwed by parish prayers at 8:15 p.m.
