S-M Dollars for Scholars to hold auction Oct. 23

STAPLES -- The Staples and Motley chapter of Dollars for Scholars' annual fund-raising event will be Oct. 23 in the Staples Motley High School cafeteria.

The event will be a radio and television call-in auction. The doors will open for buyers to inspect merchandise at 5:30 p.m. for those who wish to attend the live auction. A spaghetti supper will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and other snacks will be available.

The auction will begin at 7 p.m. It will be broadcast live on KSKK-FM 94.7 radio and cable television channel 10 from 7 to 10 p.m.

A variety of services and activities will be offered as well as items, including Sun Country airline tickets, original artwork, a fishing trip, round of golf, furniture, collectibles, clothing and household items.

Selected items will be sold at designated times during the night and those times will be announced. This way a viewer or listener can tune in and be ready to bid on the phone.
