Rhonda Jean Bergner

GARRISON - Rhonda Jean Bergner, age 55, of Garrison, died on Sept. 30, 2008, at her home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Rhonda was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on May 23, 1953, to Elmer and Eleanor (Kempe) Bergner. She lived in Sioux City until she graduated from Briar Cliff University, when she moved to Des Moines, Iowa ,and worked as a telecommunication specialist for Qwest. The job took her to Minnesota and later she moved to the Garrison area where she worked for Ace Hardware in Bay Lake, Minn.

She is survived by two sisters, Rene (Roland) Hanson and Virginia Hall; five brothers, Gene Bergner, LeRoy (Margie) Bergner, Gary Bergner, Kenny Bergner, and Keith (Marcia) Bergner; special friends Dawn Kay Baublit of Garrison and Nancy and Larry Thoms of Bay Lake; nieces and nephews; and her dog, Shawna.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Memorials may be given to the Brainerd Medical Center Oncology Department in lieu of flowers.
