A 26-year-old Brainerd woman and a 37-year-old Pillager man were arrested and more than $10,000 in methamphetamines were seized in a drug bust Saturday on Southeast 13th Street, near Stonybrook Trailer Park.
The suspects are being held in Crow Wing County Jail pending charges of felony possession of a first-degree controlled substance.
Crow Wing County Sheriff Dick Ross said the arrests and drug seizure were made after deputies stopped a vehicle for erratic driving and suspicion of DUI at 2:15 a.m. Saturday.
During the stop a K-9 police dog alerted deputies to the narcotics within the vehicle. Turned up during the search of the vehicle were several packages containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The sheriff's department reported the one-fourth pound of the substance recovered has a street value of $10,000-$12,000. Also recovered in the arrest were an undisclosed amount of marijuana and about $12,000 in cash.
Because of the arrest in Crow Wing County, a search warrant was obtained and executed by Cass County deputies and NET VI Drug Task Force on a residence in Pillager.
While officers were conducting the search warrant, two individuals stopped at the house after telephoning, looking to buy drugs from the home owner. Arrests were made after officers obtained probable cause to search their vehicle. Two people were arrested, drugs were seized and the motor vehicle was seized for forfeiture by the Cass County Sheriff's Department and NET VI.
