Lydeen, Beltz pace Patriots again

McGREGOR - Silas Lydeen and Kylie Beltz claimed individual honors for the Pequot Lakes Patriots as the boys finished first and the girls came in second behind the Crosby-Ironton Rangers in the McGregor Invite Thursday.

Adison Runberg and Jake Braam still managed to finish second and third despite crossing the finish line more than a full minute behind Lydeen as the Patriots boys' claimed the top three spots and six of the top 10 spots.

Jackie Brine-Doyle finished fifth for the Patriot girls who had three top-10 finishers.

Lisa Borden grabbed second for the Rangers followed consecutively by Marie Abear and Shelby Vukelich to wrap up the girls' team top honors.

Colt Severson, Phil Stokman and Seth Carlton each had top-10 finishes for the Ranger boys.

Travis Wheeler finished fourth in the boys' event and Kira Taylor was the top girls' finisher as the Pine River-Backus Tigers claimed third place in each race.

Gammon-Deering sixth

FERGUS FALLS - Manon Gammon-Deering finished sixth in the girls' race to lead Little Falls to a seventh-place finish in the 10-team John Hermes Invite Thursday.

The Flyers also finished seventh in the boys' run, led by Ricky Devine's 22nd-place finish.
