Josephine 'Joan' Stevens
LAKE SHORE - Josephine "Joan" F. Stevens, 68-year-old resident of Lake Shore, Minn., passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at her residence in Lake Shore. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Nisswa, Minn., with Father George Zeck officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Nisswa. Visitation will be one hour prior service on Monday at the church.
Josephine Stevens
Josephine "Joan" F. Stevens was born on Sept. 15, 1941, in St. Helens Lancashire, England, to the late Joseph and Mary (Murray) Skelly. She was united in marriage to Duane Stevens on June 29, 1963, in Anoka, Minn. The couple were longtime residents of the Coon Rapids area. Joan worked for many years for Montgomery Ward Co. After retiring, the couple moved to the Brainerd lakes area. She enjoyed traveling, boating on Gull Lake, spending time with family and friends. Joan is survived by the love of her life and husband, Duane Stevens, of Lake Shore, Minn.; sister, Sheila Epstein, of New Jersey; nieces; nephews; eight cousins; many special friends and family in Ireland. Joan was preceded in death by her mother and father. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
