PINE RIVER - October 4-10 is National 4-H Week and Cass County is celebrating by providing cookies at a bank near you.
"As the co-founder and director of an international nonprofit organization, I attribute many of my successes to the experiences I had in 4-H. 4-H is a unique program that offers so much. I know that it equipped me with the leadership skills and confidence to pursue my adult goals," said former Cass County 4-H Member Jean Margaritis Otto, who is now with the G.R.O. Foundation.
In Cass County, more than 150 4-H members and 65 volunteers are involved in 4 H.
The fundamental 4-H ideal of practical, "learn by doing" experiences encourage youth to experiment, innovate and think independently. 4-H programs are offered through after-school and camp settings and within community clubs.
