Brainerd Jaycees receive awards

The Brainerd Jaycees recently announced local recipients of state awards.

Gabe Johnson was awarded the State Gold Community Development Vice President of the quarter for outstanding organization of community service projects. Jake Frie was recognized with a Presidential Medallion - an award given to fewer than 100 members statewide each year. This honor is bestowed by the state president of the Minnesota Jaycees.

The Brainerd Jaycees also competed in individual development competitions and received first place in the debate competition. Debate team members included Angie Hanske, Jake Frie and Gabe Johnson. The Brainerd Jaycees are a leadership development organization for men and women ages 18 to 40.
