Once crowned, the crowd of mainly BHS students stood and went wild with applause.
The crowning came after musical performances by Johnson accompanied by Koreann Martin on the piano. Martin sang and played the guitar for two other songs, one she wrote about coronation and the second was "Hallelujah" from the Shrek soundtrack.
Andrea Rusk, BHS assistant principal, was the master of ceremonies. Rusk introduced all the 2007-08 homecoming royalty: Turner, Bye, Paul Anhalt, Karlye Barron, Megan Bates, Monica Campbell, Peter Carlson, Zach Doud, Chelsea Doyscher, Amber Erickson, Katie Gessell, Leah Hight, Connie Holmes, Tom Lyscio, Jed Magstadt, Drew Olson, Nate Schaefbauer and Bronson Shepherd.
When Rusk introduced each senior, she reported the results of interviews that included their first crush, what they wanted to be when they were 5, three people they'd like to have dinner with and advice they have for their younger peers.
