It's homecoming week at CLC, too
It's just not Brainerd High School students and fans who'll be celebrating homecoming this week, Central Lakes College has several fun activities planned for its homecoming too.

From golf tournaments to softball and football games to popcorn and a movie, students will stay busy. The college also has the traditional homecoming activities of a pep rally and coronation to crown a king and queen.

Faculty and staff also are competing all week in a food drive challenge.

The week will end with an outdoor family movie that is open to the public.

CLC homecoming events

Tuesday

Central Lakes College golf team in Region 13 and state tournaments, Legacy Courses at Cragun's.

Battlebot exercise by engineering students at mid-day near the cafeteria.

XBox Game Zone, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at south doors.

Wednesday

Law Enforcement Club brats and burgers grill, club fundraiser, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside south entrance.

Free bowling for students with CLC identification, 9:30 p.m. to midnight, Paul Bunyan Bowl.

Thursday

Lawn games. Movie "Fantastic Four 2" in E354 Lecture Hall, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. with free popcorn.

Friday

Lawn games and refreshments for 18- to 20-year-old crowd, CLC, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dondelinger Challenge CLC Foundation Golf Tournament, Madden's Pine Beach West Course, noon.

Spirit Day pep fest, noon, gymnasium with coronation of homecoming king and queen, dubbed "Mr. and Mrs. Raider." King candidates include Andy Cronquist, Brainerd; J.D. Berns, Brainerd; Kody Braddix, Glendale, Ariz.; George Washington III, Brainerd; Josh Ruschen, Crosby; Matt Harris, Brainerd; and Nate Schoenecker, Watkins. Queen candidates are Sarah Cooper, Brainerd; Meredith Lovaas, Isle; Erin Bosell, Deerwood; Brittany Thorson, Bagley; Alison Mathison, Bagley; Katie Lang, Springfield; and Krista Meyer, St. Joseph.

Trophy presentation from Food Drive Challenge. The Food Drive Challenge will take place all week between faculty, staff and administration versus the students. The group to contribute the most by Friday's pep fest wins the prize presented by the Brainerd campus student senate.

Saturday

CLC alumni softball game, 10 a.m., Findorff Field, (rain date Sunday).

Distinguished alumni luncheon, CLC, 11:30 a.m. Steve Anderson playing music from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

CLC football game vs. Fond du Lac, 1:30 p.m., Findorff Field.

Outdoor family movie, "Cheaper by the Dozen" at south side of CLC, 6:45 p.m.

Lights on for Safety, free inspection and replacement of most exterior vehicle bulbs, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Auto Tech shop by CLC Auto Tech students and volunteers from local businesses who are members of the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota.
