Bertha B. Borg

Bertha Belle Borg, age 93, resident of Brainerd, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Bertha was born in Fort Ripley, Minn., to Silas Sylvester and Lottie Belle (Bailey) Butrum on April 13, 1911. Bertha enjoyed life, living on her farm most of her life with her family and animals. She enjoyed gardening and cats and dogs. She was an excellent cook. She was always a kind person to all, had a good sense of humor and a great memory. Bertha enjoyed her yearly family birthday parties and polka music.

Survivors include her daughter, Jule Borg, of Brainerd; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Borg, son, Eugene Borg, of Brainerd, sister, Mae Schultz, of Brainerd, and two brothers, Leo Neese, of Bemidji, and Oscar Butrum, of Webster City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd with Father Roland Antus officiating. Visitation will be the hour before services. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.
