The Brainerd Chamber, after a period early this year without an executive, is in high gear. With 718 members. It is one of the five largest chambers in the state. It would appear area businessmen are being well served.

The Brainerd YMCA recently appointed a Glenwood woman, Cheryl Severson as Women's Program Director, making the YMCA here one of the first to establish such a position.
40 years ago (1964)
Pat Pikula, a pretty dark-haired 17-year old, was crowned Brainerd Homecoming Queen in ceremonies held in the Washington High School gym.
60 years ago (1944)
Evergreen Cemetery Association celebrated its 65th Anniversary by a dinner at Don's Cafe. Dr. George Ribbel acted as toastmaster. William Graham, president of the Association gave a welcome talk.
80 years ago (1924)
J.C. Penny, founder and head of the J.C. Penney Stores, stopped in Brainerd for a short time late Sunday afternoon. Mr. Penney was impressed with Brainerd and the J.C. Penney store here.
100 years ago (1904)
