GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) -- Chris Osgood made 21 saves and Mark Rycroft and Scott Mellanby scored to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 2-0 preseason win over the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday night.
The Blues (5-1-1) posted their second shutout of the preseason.
Rycroft scored at 13:10 of the first period from the top of the right circle after a faceoff in the Wild zone. It was his second goal of the preseason.
Mellanby made it 2-0 at 1:26 of the second period when he fought off a check in the slot and slammed home Keith Tkachuk's pass from behind the net. It was Mellanby's first goal of the preseason.
The game, played at the University of North Dakota's Ralph Engelstad Arena, featured four former North Dakota players: Murray Baron, Ryan Johnson and Jeff Panzer of the Blues, and Brad Bombardir of the Wild.
