Raider netters fall out west

WAHPETON -- A sound defense beats a good offense the majority of the time and it proved true Wednesday when North Dakota State College of Science blanked the Central Lakes College Raiders volleyball team 30-23, 30-20, 30-23 Wednesday.

"They played very good team defense which was frustrating for us," said Central Lakes coach Jane Peterson. "We're used to putting the ball down more on offense. It was disappointing, but it was good to see a team play defense in an aggressive way and hopefully we can learn from them."

Raiders setter Abby Leach managed 14 set assists with Lane tenCate collecting 8 kills.
