Four Brainerd area residents watched Thursday's presidential debates with definite opinions of their own. They agreed to share their reactions with the Brainerd Dispatch.
* Neil Hunt, 49, of Fifty Lakes, is a self-employed craftsman who specializes in engraving. He grew up in north Brainerd, moved to Arizona for several years and has lived in central Minnesota for the past seven years.
* Luann Rice, 65, Baxter, is a retired Pequot Lakes teacher. She formerly lived in Nisswa but has lived in the Brainerd-Baxter area since 1989. She is a member of the League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women and has been door-knocking for the Democratic Party.
* Keith Riedel, 47, Brainerd, has worked as manager of the air tanker base at the Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport. A Brainerd native, he builds furniture, does remodeling and plows snow.
* Rod Thoe, 49, Fort Ripley, is a self-described jack-of-all trades who does remodeling. He formerly worked at Potlatch for 27 years. He was born in Germany, while his father was in the service. Thoe was a delegate to the Republican State Convention in Minnesota.
The panel was formed after readers were invited to watch the debate at the Dispatch. Efforts to find two undecided panelists were unsuccessful.
