Posted: Wednesday, October 01, 2003

WALKER -- Stephanie Lynn Day, 20, Burnsville, became the last person accused in connection with the Oct. 5 murder of Brian Jenny, Shakopee, at Federal Dam to enter a guilty plea.

Day pleaded guilty Sept. 22 in Cass County District Court before Judge John P. Smith to felony aiding an offender. She will be sentenced Oct. 27.

A second-degree assault charge also filed against her will be dismissed upon her guilty plea to aiding an offender.

Day's vehicle was used to transport Jenny from the location where he was beaten in downtown Federal Dam to Peter's Pond Road where hunters found him in a near-death condition early the next morning.

The grand jury indictment against her accused Day of aiding Kenneth Conger, 17, Federal Dam, to avoid arrest, a person whom she knew at the time to have committed an offense. Conger pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for repeatedly beating Jenny and is serving 35 years prison.

He turned himself into Burnsville authorities following the murder.

Leah Danielle Harper-Jenkins, 20, Bena, was sentenced in July to 30 years prison for second-degree murder. A Cass County jury found her guilty.

Stephanie Dawn Losh, 21, Bena, received a stay of execution of a 10-year prison sentence on the condition she serve one year in county jail. She pleaded guilty to felony aiding and abetting kidnapping.

Jenny died at a Twin Cities hospital two days after he was beaten at Federal Dam.

The victim and those charged in connection with his murder were partying at a Federal Dam cabin before the assault.
