Dorothy Olive Forde, 71, Ironton, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.
She was born May 14, 1930, in Houston to Oswald and Marie (Olsen) Olsen. She was a retired elementary school teacher with 28 years of service to the United South Central School District. She received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She retired to the Cuyuna Range in 1996. She was a member of Sons of Norway, Brainerd, and the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Forde, Ironton, and Siri Forde, Roseville; two grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn Saastad, Tacoma, Wash.
Her parents, and two brothers, Oswald and Arthur Olsen, died earlier.
Services will be 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby with the Rev. Paul Mattson officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. Friday in the Spooner Cemetery in Spooner, Wis.
Friends may call an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
