Tammy Lynn Gangestad, age 41, resident of Brainerd, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Fort Ripley, Minn. Burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery (casket carried by horse and wagon, riders may follow). Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue the hour before services at the church on Thursday.
Tammy Lynn Gangestad was born on June 1, 1967, in Wurtzberg, Germany. She grew up in Brainerd, lived most of her life here. Tammy married Felix E. Gangestad on July 11, 1986, in Brainerd. The couple resided in Brainerd where they raised three children. Tammy enjoyed being outside, spending time in her garden, tending to flowers, horses and other animals. These were her favorite things to do. Family and family time were always put first; she tried to always spend as much time as she could with her granddaughter, it would brighten her day. She worked at the post office for 12 years as a carrier. Tammy owned her own business doing sewer inspection and designs and also owned and serviced porta potties. She was always known and went by "Tammy the Toilet Lady." While doing her business she also worked at the Morrison County Planning and Zoning office in Little Falls.
She is survived by her husband, Felix; daughter, Heather, and her husband, Brent, and granddaughter, Ella; son, Kenneth, and daughter, Rachel, all of Brainerd; her parents, Donna and Jim Haggerty; brothers and sisters, Shelly (Curt), Kristy Kekoni, Troy (Lisa) Palmer, Shannon Brossard, John Haggerty and Jeremy Ballou.
Arrangements are with the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.
Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
