Good Samaritan Society-Woodland will launch its free Breast Health Education Tea from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 11 at Woodland, 200 Buffalo Hills Lane in Brainerd.
Part of the Good Samaritan Society's mission provides supportive services to older adults and helps others in need as well. Being recently awarded a generous grant from the Brainerd Lakes Chapter of Susan G. Komen enables Good Samaritan to do that.
Educating people - whether it's a mother, grandmother, daughter, niece or even a husband - is the focus of this breast education tea. This will be a special time to celebrate and learn new ways to improve health and well-being. Food, door prizes, a special gift for all that attend, educational handouts plus lots of fun and fellowship are planned.
Additional resource materials will be available at the Good Samaritan Society-Woodland for area churches and faith-based organizations to use for education in their congregations and through area Parish Nurses.
Joy Nordby, Parish Nurse at Woodland, will head this program. Additional educational teas are planned later this year and into 2009. One of the workshops will be at the Good Samaritan Campus Pine River to accommodate community members in that area.
This event is open to women and men off all ages. To RSVP or for additional questions on this program, contact: Joy Nordby, Parish Nurse at 855-6632.
