Lacey Marie Needham, the 18-year-old Fort Ripley girl struck by a vehicle Sept. 19 while she was in-line skating in northeast Brainerd, was reported in serious condition Monday at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. Her condition has improved since last week, when she was reported in critical condition.
Needham was struck at Washington Street and Gillis Avenue in northeast Brainerd by a vehicle driven by Gladys Anderson, 65, Brainerd. Anderson wasn't injured.

Man and child on bike struck
BAXTER - A 45-year-old Baxter man and his 1-year-old son were injured after the bicycle they were on was struck by a vehicle about 7:30 p.m. Saturday on Fairview Road in Baxter, the Baxter Police Department reported.
Jonathan Belcher and his son, Jax Belcher, were transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Information on their conditions was unavailable Monday.
The driver of the other vehicle, Julie Miles, 53, Merrifield, was not injured.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department, State Patrol, Brainerd Fire Department and North Ambulance assisted.
