Taste of the Lakes set Nov. 19 as Kinship fund-raiser

The 15th annual Taste of the Lakes and Art Auction sponsored by Kinship Partners will be Nov. 19 at Breezy Point Resort.

The social hour and silent auction will start at 6 p.m. The chefs' presentation will begin at 7 p.m. followed by an auction. Tickets are $50 per person and are available by calling Kinship Partners in Brainerd at 829-4606.

Taste of the Lakes is the major fund-raiser for Kinship Partners. Area restaurants and caterers provide a sampling of their culinary specialties. Wine and specialty beer will be available for tasting.

The silent auction will feature artworks of various media from artisans in the Brainerd lakes area. There will be literary-based gift baskets available for bid. Other silent auction items include airline tickets for two to anywhere in the contiguous 48 states from Northwest Airlines; a week in Mazatlan in a two-bedroom condo, good for any week in December; Lasik surgery donated by Dr. Jerome Poland; a winter weekend getaway for a family of four at Cragun's Resort; and a guided muskie fishing trip on Lake Mille Lacs.
