The Women's Center of Mid-Minnesota in Brainerd received a $20,000 grant from the Sheltering Arms Foundation to support the continued expansion of the Alex and Brandon Child Safety Center, which provides safe exchanges for children and court-ordered supervised child visitation services.
Bi-CAP receives Youth Mentoring Initiative grant
Bi-County Community Action Program Inc. in partnership with Kinship North, Healthy Community Healthy Kids, YouthBuild, Northwoods Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers and the Cass Lake-Bena School District received funding for a Youth Mentoring Initiative project from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Free mental health screenings offered Oct. 7
Northern Pines Mental Health Center is offering free, anonymous mental health screenings for depression, bi-polar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder on National Depression Screening Day Oct. 7.

Kinship Partners receives Angel of Mentoring award
Kinship Partners received the Angel of Mentoring award for outstanding leadership by a greater Minnesota organization presented by the Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota at the annual Minnesota Mentor Conference Sept. 21.
Kinship Partners has been providing positive role models and guidance to youths in Crow Wing and southern Cass counties since 1986.
