Lies and intrigue abound in this morality play about a student whose lie ruins her teachers' lives, with a cast that ranges in age from 9 to 73. Dennis Lamberson directs the drama, to be staged at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at Central Lakes College's Dryden Theatre. Tickets are $5 for the public and free for CLC students.

Singer-guitarist Jim Miller warms up the Grassroots Concerts series with his Minnesota-centric folk tunes at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Nisswa Community Center. Tickets are $10.
Bending the rules
The Stagebenders serve up a hurricane of interactive comedy in week four at Scott Hansen's Comedy Gallery at the Rail. The shows start at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the downtown Brainerd club. Tickets are $10, but if you bring a ticket stub from a previous show, you can get in for $5.
Take a toe-tapping tour through the diverse Russian culture with this folk ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Auditorium in Staples. Tickets are $12 (adult advance), $6 (student advance), $15 (adult at door) and $7 (student at door).
Jazzing it up
The Lakes Area Concert Association gets off to a rousing start with Orange Kellin's New Orleans Blues Serenaders at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Tornstrom Auditorium, Washington Middle School, in Brainerd. LACA season memberships are $28 for adults, $10 for students and $70 for families.
Two films open Friday at Movies 10 at Westgate in Baxter -- one a drama about firefighters running into burning buildings, and one an animated children's comedy.
"Ladder 49" stars Joaquin Phoenix and John Travolta portraying the trials and tribulations of life as a firefighter.
"Shark Tale," opening on two screens, is about a mob under the sea and features the voices of Will Smith, Robert De Niro, Renee Zellwegger, Jack Black, Angelina Jolie and Martin Scorsese.
