Aitkin Gobblers defeat East Central with overtime field goal

SANDSTONE -- It took an extra frame but the Aitkin Gobblers defeated the East Central Eagles Friday night in a Great River Conference game 10-7.

The Gobblers received all of their scoring from Josh Flier who scored on a pass from Aaron Johnson in the first quarter.

Flier knocked in the game winning field goal. The 23 yarder helped Aitkin to a 2-1 record in the conference.

Kyle Bender rushed for 74 yards on nine carries and Aaron Johnson followed with 70 yards on 14 carries to lead Aitkin to their third straight win.
