SWANVILLE -- Beatrice "Bea" Nelson, 77, Swanville, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at her home.
She was born March 26, 1923, in St. Paul to Ernest and Esther (Palm) Thelander. At age 3, her family moved to Chicago. She graduated from Steinmetz High School in January 1941 in Chicago. She attended one year of business school in Chicago. She worked for Gossards Corrsette Co. for 16 years as a bookkeeper. She married Roy Nelson on June 1, 1957, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Swanville. They lived on a farm in the Swanville area. She worked as a teller as the Swanville Bank from 1966-1978. After leaving she helped with farming full time. They sold the farm in 1980 and moved across the field to their present home. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Dove Homemakers, American Legion No. 313 and DAV No. 12.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Lynn Duxbury, Little Falls, and Lori Sutton, Swanville; and four grandchildren.
Her parents and a son, Lee Nelson, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Swanville with John O'Grein officiating. Burial will be in the East Swanville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Shelley-Gibson Funeral Chapel in Swanville and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
