Bernice Violet Rasinski, age 88, resident of Brainerd, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009. She was born Dec. 20, 1920, in Brainerd to Joseph and Lula (Bassitt) Janowiak. Bernice married Frank Louis Rasinski on Jan. 28, 1946, in Brainerd. She worked at Hickerson Garment Factory, the Brainerd State Hospital and was a foster grandparent.

She was also a member of the WOW Club.
Survivors include daughters, Kathleen (Frank) Kraklau, of Cloquet, Minn., and Bonnie (Jon) VonDell, of Enumclaw, Wash.; sons, Michael (Brenda) Rasinski, Donald (friend Deb Lagergren) Rasinski, Patrick Rasinski and Gerald (Rita) Rasinski, all of Brainerd; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Beatrice (Carl) Bjorklund, of Brainerd, Isabelle Vogt, of Edgewood, Wash., Helen Sigler, of Fredericksburg, Va.; brother, Ernest (Lorna) Rasinski; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; son, Robert; great-grandson, Mitchel; brothers, Frank, Floyd, Harry and Arthur Janowiak and Charles Grondin; sister, Francis; daughter-in-law, Sherry Rasinski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Tony Wroblewski officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday with rosary at 7 p.m. Thursday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Visitation will continue at the church Friday the hour before services.
