CROSSLAKE - The victim of a single-vehicle fatal crash Sunday morning in Crosslake has been identified as Eric Yanka, 29, Hugo, the Crosslake Police Department reported.
The crash was reported at 12:45 a.m. on Crow Wing County Road 103 in Crosslake. The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into woods, police said.
Yanka, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Eric Rivard, 30, Burnsville. Rivard and another passenger, Daniel Gonzalez, 32, Somerset, Wis., were transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. A hospital spokeswoman on Monday said there was no information available on Rivard's or Gonzalez's conditions.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, Sgt. Erik Lee said. The State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department, the Breezy Point and Pequot Lakes police departments, Crosslake Fire Department and North Ambulance assisted at the scene of the crash.
