CROSBY - Amelia "Millie" M. Ferrari, age 97, of Crosby, died on Sept. 26, 2008, at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.
She was born on Jan. 14, 1911, in Sudan, Minn., to Peter and Katherine (Colic) Kosnitch. She married John Ferrari Sr. on April 5, 1932, in Ely, Minn. With her husband, John, they owned and operated several Cuyuna Range businesses: Grand Central Food Market, Midway Bar and Crosby Bar. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Crosby, St. Joseph's CCW and the National Society of Foresters St. Mary's Court No. 854, Croatian Fraternal Union and Myrin-James American Legion Auxiliary, Ironton.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond (Cathy) Ferrari of Cuyuna and Robert (Eileen) Ferrari of Crosby; two daughters, Delores Waffensmith of Deerwood and Glee (Keith) Lundgren of Crosby; 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband John A. Ferrari Sr.; son, John "Jinx" Ferrari; two great-grandchildren, Zachery Waffensmith and Marie Waffensmith; three brothers, Peter, Janko and George Kosnitch; three sisters, Mary Kurie, Katherine Preblich and Ann Ustipak.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby with a rosary at 7 p.m. and one Thursday one hour prior to the services at the church.
