20 years ago (1988)

Ruth Gmeinder, director of Crow Wing County WIC, and Carolyn Kozik, director of education at St. Joseph's Medial Center, are coordinators of the First People's Health Fair at Brainerd.

30 years ago (1978)

Kathryn Norrgard of Rural Route 3, Brainerd, was selected as one of the top two 4-H members in the state in the area of leadership. Kathryn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Norrgard.

40 years ago (1968)

A majority of the Brainerd City Council went on record as favoring the establishment of a regional library system which would include Cass and Crow Wing counties and the city of Brainerd.

60 years ago (1948)

When registration closed last night 325 student journalists from high schools throughout Minnesota had signed up to attend the annual convention to be held in the Washington High School Oct. 8 and 9.

80 years ago (1928)

The city council and the board of education have purchased a new Ford business Coupe for the use of Miss Eula Michael, city and school nurse.

100 years ago (1908)

Mrs. Grandelmyer and Mrs. Theviot entertained very charmingly the other evening in honor of Mrs. L.D. Boies. 500 was played. Mrs. Will Spencer winning the head prize, Mrs. C.M. Patek the second.
