Marsh Airhart's 1931 Essex took first place in its class and was picked as best car of the show last weekend at the state fairgrounds. Airhart lives on Route 4, Brainerd. His car was singled out among 532 vehicles.

The yard of the Gary Smith home at 1820 South Eighth Street, Brainerd, was winner of the Yard of the Month contest for August.
