Fall's color show
Staff Writer Fall is my favorite time of year.
I love the feeling of fall. Autumn means cooler temperatures, which often requires sweatshirts and flannel shirts.
I love the sounds and smells of fall - the rustling of the leaves as people rake their yards and the burning of those heaping leaf piles.
The season stimulates the senses. The visual aspect of fall is my favorite. I love the colorful backdrop the fall leaves provide. I think it's amazing how one day your drive home from work is filled with a blur of green and it seems - without a moment's notice - the scenery turns to vibrant shades of scarlet, gold and rust.
Lakes area readers were asked to provide their favorite fall destination spots. The following are photo illustrations of a few of those places.
For more information on other colorful fall destination spots locally, visit www.explorebrainerdlakes.com or statewide, visit www.exploreminnesota.com.
