BAXTER -- Moorhead's Amy Bruggeman scored in the 66th minute for the game's only goal as the Spuds edged the Brainerd Warriors 1-0 Saturday in girls soccer.

"This was the first time this season that we got out played," Warriors coach Steve Kimble said of Moorhead's 24-5 edge in shots on goal. "This was a big, high level soccer game. We went in looking to win. Moorhead was ecstatic to score the goal they did."

Warrior goalie Becka Gellert stonewalled the Moorhead attack time and again en route to picking up 23 saves. Despite the loss, Kimble was pleased to see the way his defense played.

"Becka's ability in net showed through," Kimble said. "Our defense got a lot of work and stayed composed. It was nice to see our defense and goaltender get challenged."
