Warriors take fourth at Virginia

VIRGINIA -- Megan Arns and Haley Bower powered the Brainerd Warriors volleyball team to fourth place at the Virginia tournament Saturday.

Arns finished with 26 digs and a team-high 23 kills along with four blocks while Bower added 37 digs and 21 kills for Brainerd, who went 2-2 in the tournament.

Maria Swanson added 17 kills and had a team-high seven blocks. Teammate Nikki Dehen collected six blocks.

"I was able to play everybody and look at things that I needed to look at as a coach," Warriors coach Lori Dean said. "The second Greenway game really impressed me. Things didn't rattle us and we won that game. There were pluses and minuses and I think it will pay off at the end of season."
