CROSSLAKE -- Richard "Doc" McLellan, 75, Crosslake, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at home.
He was born May 3, 1925, in Omaha, Neb., to Duncan and Lorene (Whitman) McLellan. In 1948 he graduated from Colorado State University in Collins, Colo., with a degree in veterinary medicine. He married Jean "Betty" Jack on June 12, 1949, in Eustis, Neb. He practiced for 18 years in central Nebraska. In 1966 they moved to Sauk Centre and he worked for 19 years for the Department of Agriculture. He retired in 1985 and they moved to Crosslake. He was a member of the Crosslake Lutheran Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Shriners and was a past member of the Elks.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James McLellan, Maple Grove, and Robert McLellan, Sauk Centre; a daughter, Lori Paris, Bemidji; six grandchildren; and a sister, Harriett Gilliland, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Crosslake Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Cemetery of Crosslake. Memorials are preferred.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake with a Masonic memorial service at 5:30 p.m.
