Robert A. Kehl

AITKIN -- Robert A. Kehl, 74, Aitkin, died Wednesday at his home.

He was born Nov. 7, 1925, in Aitkin to Grant and Helen (Borg) Kehl. He enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served most of the time in the Pacific Ocean. He earned the American Theater Campaign Medal, the Philippine Liberation Medal with one star, the Asian-Pacific Campaign Medal with three stars and the World War II Victory Medal. After the service, he returned to Aitkin and was a self-employed logger.

Survivors include a sister, Shirley Davies, Aitkin; and a brother, Donald Kehl, Crosby.

His sister, Eleanor Johnson, and a brother, Willard Kehl, died earlier.

Services will be at a later date. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
