Afghanistan discussion to be held Friday at library

Andrew Hook will be speaking on "Afghanistan: Development and Capacity Building" at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Brainerd Public Library.

Hook, an international economics scholar, will present his on-the-ground experience and some of the challenges he faced working in Afghanistan from late 2002 to mid 2006. His presentation will followed by questions from the audience and discussion.

Hook, who has a degree in international economics from New York University, has 30 years experience in banking, finance and economic development in Africa, Asia, South and Central America, the Caribbean and Europe.
