Child care association receives grant

Crow Wing County Licensed Child Care Association has been awarded a grant for child care mentorship and training by the Minnesota Department of Children, Families and Learning.

The first of eight training sessions will be Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Head Start Center. Trainer at the first session will be Kristen Wheeler, coordinator of the Anoka County community support program. The training will focus on the support providers give to parents and children in regard to social, emotional, mental health and behavioral needs.

The $15,800 grant will provide the eight sessions on topics on mentorship, developmentally appropriate care, cultural diversity, nutrition, building healthy communities and business skills.
