SAUK RAPIDS - Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Bridge Community Church in Sauk Rapids for Dale E. Prushek, age 67, of Sauk Rapids who died Thursday at his home. The Rev. Kirk Knudsen will officiate and burial will be at Benton Cemetery in Sauk Rapids. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church in Sauk Rapids.
Dale was born July 4, 1941 in Brainerd to Adolph & Edna "Ruby" (Guida) Prushek. Dale grew up on a farm in Perry Lake Township just north of Crosby. He attended Perry Lake School and graduated from Crosby High School in 1959. He attended St. Cloud Vocational Technical School to learn car mechanics. With his partner, Jerry Beckman, they won second place at the 1962 Plymouth Trouble Shooting Contest sponsored by Chrysler National Finals.
He married Jacqueline "Jackie" Hughes on July 14, 1962, at Emily Wesleyan Church in Emily. They moved to California for 1 1/2 years and moved back to Emily to work in the garage there. They moved to Sauk Rapids in 1970 to work at Larson Bus Service where he retired from after 29 years. He later worked for Wapicada Golf Course doing maintenance for 5 years. He enjoyed traveling, auctions, old time steam and threshing shows, polka music and dancing, woodworking and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie of Sauk Rapids; son and daughter, Alan of Sauk Rapids, Lorelei "Lori" (Carl) Larson of Lowry; granddaughters, Amy, Emily, and Melissa Larson; and brother, Howard of Remer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
