Good Samaritan to host auxiliary meeting
The Bethany Good Samaritan Society, 804 Wright Street, Brainerd, will be hold it's annual auxiliary meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday in the classroom. The gift shop meeting will be just prior to the auxiliary meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the classroom. There will be a special book club review of "The Shack" and a light luncheon served after the meeting.
National Alliance on Mental Illness
The National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI, for the counties of Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd and Wadena will meet from 7-9 p.m. at 606 Front Street in Brainerd. Community Ladies Aid
The Deerfield Township Community Ladies Aid Annual Harvest Supper will be held starting at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Deerfield Town Hall, eight miles west of Backus. Turkey and ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, cabbage salad, homemade pie and buns will be served. A bazaar and raffle will also be held.
Cost is $10 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-12 and free for those 6 years or younger.
Diabetes Expo
The Lions International District 5M9 will offer the 4th annual bus trip to the American Diabetes Expo at the Minneapolis Convention Center Saturday, Oct. 11. The expo runs from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Transportation and admission to the expo is free for those riding the Lion's bus. Lois Club Luncheon
The Lois Club Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Black Rock Terrace Senior Apartment's dining room, 315 First Avenue Southwest, Aitkin (behind the old Hospital, now Riverwood Extended Care) across from the new Dollar Store (formerly Paulbecks) at Hwy. 47 and 169. Call of '40 - '49
The Class of 1946 will host a Decade Party for graduates from the classes of 1940-1949 beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at the Brainerd VFW Club, 309 South Street. Dancing is planned from 7-11 p.m. with music by Wayne Renn and his band.
