The Northern Pacific Railroad, through its divisions contributory to the Brainerd Shops has turned in approximately 20,000 tons of scrap metal for war production.

It happened at Turcotte Brothers Store. Man from Crosby was across the street cranking up his Chevrolet and had the car in gear. It started up and the cranker fled for his life to escape being run over.
100 years ago (1902)
C. Rudolph saw an animal a couple of miles west of Deerwood that he called a panther, but the boys think that Mr. Rudolph's vision must have been affected.
