Charter Commission to meet Wednesday
The Brainerd Charter Commission will meet 4 p.m. Wednesday at city hall to discuss a charter change request from Northland Arboretum.
Ranney reappointed Girl Scout coordinator
Joan Ranney of Brainerd was reappointed to the position of community coordinator in the Brainerd area for the Girls Scouts-Land of Lakes Council.
Ranney is responsible for the organization and maintenance of 40 troops and 291 girls in Brainerd and Pillager. She is also responsible for appointing other volunteer positions within the service unit, such as troop leaders, public relations representatives, steering committee members and cookie managers. Ranney also serves as the community liaison for the council.
