I wonder if anyone else enjoyed the irony of the two Vox Pop writers chastising their fellow American citizens for supposedly engaging in "only blame and name calling" during the Taxed Enough Already party in Brainerd? I'm not counting but in two short comments they used such terms as "tea-baggers," "loud-mouths," "local crazies," and "regressives," not to mention the suggestion that the great American dissenters were cave-dwellers. Thank you for showing your true colors.
Appreciates Vox Pop
I just want to say thank you for offering Vox Pop to the public to be able to express themselves without having to put their name attached to it. It's not like we live in the great big cities or something. It's a small town. You can get backlash for expressing your opinion in this town so I appreciate you offering that to people who want to have a say in something.
Music lives on
Mary Travers passed away last week with no fanfare or coverage from the fluff media. Yes, that Mary from the famous folk group Peter, Paul and Mary. As struggling musicians, Peter and Paul found and added Mary's strong voice to the group and the rest, as they say, is history. Their sound was unique as they sang their own songs along with others from Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan and Bob Denver. This group sang of peaceful protest, love and understanding. Wouldn't that be nice to hear again? Her voice is now silent but the music lives on.
Editor's note: The Vox Pop Department of Music Appreciation says to the fluff the magic dragon media: Shame on you.
