Morrison County Board to meet
LITTLE FALLS - The Morrison County Board will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the administration conference room regarding the possibility of establishing a Crow Wing County Youth Detention Center.
RREAL tour and celebration set
PINE RIVER - The Central Region Clean Energy Resource Team is hosting a meeting and tour Oct. 11 at the Rural Renewable Energy Alliance at the Hunt Utility Group campus in Pine River.
The meeting will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and will be a chance for attendees to tour the RREAL manufacturing plant and office and to be part of a sendoff celebration. RREAL will be sending five newly designed solar thermal panels to the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation for approval.
Hunt Utilities Group Research Campus is at 2502 24th St. S.W., Pine River. Attendees should meet in the large cob building at the end of the driveway. Guests can park on the north side of the building and come in that entrance. For more location information, call RREAL at (218) 587-4753.

Little Falls to be honored at historic preservation conference
ST. PAUL - Little Falls will be among other cities in the state to be honored Oct. 2 at the 2007 Minnesota Preservation Awards, which will be presented in conjunction with the National Trust for Historic Preservation's annual preservation conference at St. Paul's Landmark Center.
The Preservation Alliance of Minnesota will shine a spotlight on the state and its greatest preservation success stories.
Now in its 23rd year, the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota's annual awards program recognizes outstanding projects, groups and individuals who contribute to the state's preservation accomplishments. Awards are presented, not on the basis of size or investment, but rather on the merit they provide to their community.
