Thelma O. Meadows

VERNDALE -- Thelma O. Meadows, 79, Verndale, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa.

She was born Nov. 15, 1922, to Alfred and Gerda (Grandlund) Line in Clarissa. She was an Army veteran and served from 1944-1946, obtaining the rank of corporal. During her time in the service she played in the Northwest Softball League in Seattle. She married Benjamin Meadows. She worked as a home health care nurse and also farmed. She owned and operated Thelma's Barn, north of Verndale.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Brown, Mora; two grandchildren; three sisters, Beatrice Allen, Brewton, Ala., Glenda McDonald, Rogers, Ark., and Sylvia Anderson, Wadena; and four brothers, Allen Line, Redman, Ore., and Joyce Line, Stanley Line and Roy Line, all of Verndale.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Verndale Assemblies of God Tabernacle with the Rev. Lance Beachem officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call an hour before services Friday at the church.

Arrangements are with Bielema Family Funeral Home in Verndale.
