Despite the odd allegiance some people still have to wraps and the startling number of burger imposters (turkey, tuna, tofu and that ilk), for many of us there is no substitute for the basic beef burger.
We could cite statistics to prove our position (Americans eat some 10.5 billion beef burgers each year -- NPD Foodworld).
Or we could refer you to burger cover stories found in glossy food magazines (magazines, we note, that also cater to caviar and Champagne crowds).
Or we could just take a moment to say that the next time you don't know what to cook, think of the burger.
